Ed Regensburg, MA, ATR-BC, Cht. LCAT

Ed Regensburg is an expert at accessing levels of human consciousness through altered state hypnosis and the use of imagery. Ed is a pioneer of clinical art psychotherapy and a leader in alternative approaches to conceptualizing mental health services and psychological market research. His specialty is in uncovering and translating the hidden meaning of images and perceptions based upon his over 30 years of clinical experience.

Ed Regensburg is a licensed, board certified professional Art Therapist (ATR-BC, LCAT). In addition, he is a board certified hypnotherapist. Ed graduated from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education in 1975. He received a Master’s Degree in Creative Arts Therapy from Hofstra University in 1980. Since 1980, Ed has studied physics, metaphysics, and quantum physics with several teachers, integrating traditional and non-traditional theories regarding the human psyche and psychological care resulting in a successful clinical psychotherapy practice and focus group moderation services for the market research industry.

From 1975 – 1992, Ed designed, established and supervised clinical Art Therapy programs at the North Shore University Hospital, Sagamore Children’s Center, and Pederson Krag Mental Health Center. In 1992, he established the first Wellness, Education and Treatment Through The Arts Program at the North Shore Creative Rehabilitation Center (aka Sara’s Center) for people with special needs, with a focus on psychiatric illness. He is currently the Director of the Art Therapy Department at Family Residences & Essential Enterprises, Inc. – a department he also designed and established. During this time, Regensburg also established an exclusive private practice where he specializes in art psychotherapy, with a special focus on children and individuals with special needs.

Regensburg is also a noted lecturer and workshop leader. From 1984 – 1994, he served as Adjunct Professor of Art Therapy in the graduate Art Therapy program he co-designed at Long Island University. He has been sought out by many organizations for his consultant services including the New York State Office of Mental Health, Long Island Association for Aids Care, Pall Medical Corporation of America and others. He also provides supervision, training and consultation to clinical professionals.

Since 2001, Ed has offered his visionary services through the Creative Sanctuary® Research Program to clients in the Marketing Research and Advertising industry, to assist in developing creative “out of the box” solutions. Some past clients include JWT USA, Draft FCB, Lyonheart, Galileo Marketing and Research and others.
Ed’s own personal artwork has been featured in galleries across the country and is included in many private and corporate collections.
